It's a...

It's only a couple of days until we find out whether our little peanut is a girl or a boy! I'm just about 18 weeks along, and we have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday morning. I've started to feel little movements from the baby in the past few weeks, which makes it all feel so much more real! I can't wait to know whether I should be shopping for a girl or boy, and I'm aching to start redesigning bedroom decor.

Just out of curiosity, I thought I'd see what some of the old wives tales predict. Here's what I found:

Chinese Gender Prediction:
Girl

Craving salty or sweet? (Salty)
Boy

Carrying low or high? (High)
Girl

Heart rate over 140? (Usually in 140-150 range)
Girl

Morning sickness? (Not much)
Boy

Carrying weight out front or all around? (Front)
Boy

Really conclusive, right? I'm not really surprised that it's split down the middle, depending on which superstition you want to follow (I wouldn't believe it even if they ALL said the same gender). Still, I'm excited to find out whether Will is going to have a little brother or a little sister. Then I can start the great name search, and I can refer to the baby as "he" or "she" instead of "he or she".

Any guesses?
