Photo-A-Day Challenge: The Last Installment!

Wahoo! I actually made it through an entire year of photos! I only missed 5 days, which means I photographed (98.6%) of the days in 2015. I'm proud of the accomplishment, and while I'm ready for a new challenge and won't keep up the daily photography, this project has definitely taught me the importance of capturing the small and simple moments of life. I have LOVED looking back through the photos I've taken and reliving the memories of the year. We had some good times!

So, without further ado, here are the final photos of 2015...

December 29: S is for...
We love mommy school!

Family Bowling
Is there anything cuter than Will-sized bowling shoes?

 December 30: Eating "popsicles"
He hasn't quite caught the difference between popsicles and icicles.

Goofy boy

December 31: And that's a wrap!

January 1: BONUS!
We didn't do much for New Year's Eve, but we had a fun fondue night with my sister and her husband on New Year's Day. Cheese, lots of dippers, chocolate, and more dippers. Great fun!

Photo-A-Day Challenge: December 22-28

December 22: Heritage
Traditional German Stollen...
few things are better than food that connects me to family that I love and miss so much.

December 23: The Santa Wand
I wanted to make a Christmas craft with Will, and his request was a "Santa Wand." I have no idea what that is, but apparently everyone with magic needs a wand, so we got creative. :)

December 24: Christmas Eve

December 25: Christmas!

December 26: Making Music

December 27: Snuggle Bug

December 28: Christmas Wish
Will's only request for Christmas for MONTHS has been that he wanted a car transporter. And, he is in love with it. Hooray for simple joys.

Photo-A-Day Challenge: December 15-21

December 15: Sledding Adventures

December 16: My Love
So, this picture was not taken on this December 16th, but it was taken on a December 16th...
five years ago. I'm so grateful for good wedding photos and I love looking back at our album and remembering the bliss of the day, and how much we have grown together since then.

Also, that day, I went to Will's school because Santa came to visit. Aren't Santa pictures the best? Or something like that. :)

 December 17: Making Memories
This is our newest Christmas ornament. We bought it in Hanover, NH on our trip this fall. It depicts the sugar maples with their sap buckets. We try to collect ornaments on all our travels so that as we decorate the tree each year we can remember all the fun adventures we've gone on together.

December 18-19...Oops. I think I'm losing steam on this project, guys.

December 20: Christmas Sunday
Sometimes you get a good shot of your children in their Christmas Sunday best...and sometimes you laugh at the beautiful realities (as a friend of mine calls them) of life instead.

December 21: Fun with Aunt Robyn
I'm so glad my sister lives close and that she chose to spend a large chunk of her day playing with my boys and me. :)

Photo-A-Day Challenge: December 8-14

So, this week I may have failed at actually taking a picture every day, but I did end up with several pictures. I kind of missed Tuesday through Friday. Oops.

December 12: Ski Date
Once or twice a year, Graham gets ski passes through his company. We had a great afternoon up at Alta. I'm still such a beginner, but I managed to stay upright most of the day, and I eve tried a few blue runs. :)

December 13: C is for Cookie Monster

December 14: Winter Wonderland
It's a good thing I have kids to help me enjoy the snow...and a husband to shovel the driveway. :)

Photo-A-Day Challenge: Tis the Season!

We're gearing up for Christmas around here, and I'm loving it!

November 30: You Can't Catch Me!
Our "Mommy School" theme last week was gingerbread. Will decorated this little guy ALL by himself. Can you tell? :)

December 1: Work in Progress
Our giant cardboard gingerbread house before decorating.

December 2: Granola Bites
I've been experimenting with food photography for another project I've been working on (because I need more projects, right?). These little guys are one of our favorite snack foods around here.

December 3: Gingerbread Cookies
This project almost cost my sanity, but they turned out cute in the end. :)

December 4: Twinkle, Twinkle
This is my second favorite photo from the week. After getting a smiling shot, I told him to just play with the lights. What does he do? Shove them in his eyes. Of course. Why didn't I think of that?

December 5: Wonder

December 6: O Christmas Tree

December 7: Let's Decorate!

Photo-A-Day Challenge: Thanksgiving Week

November 23: I'm Thankful for...Reading Time
I have fond memories of my mom reading to me as a child, and I LOVED watching her bond with my boys the same way while my parents were in town this week. :)

November 24: I'm Thankful for...Grandpa Snuggles
These boys love their grandpa, especially when he watches cartoons with them.

November 25: I'm Thankful for...First Times
Wednesday was a day of firsts for Will: a visit with Santa, petting a reindeer, and his first trip to the movie theater. There is something magic about watching him experience things for the first time.

November 26: I'm Thankful for...Family Traditions
Thanksgiving was full of family and traditional foods that hold so many memories of past holidays together, like my mom's apple sausage dressing.

November 27: I'm Thankful for...Family

My parents asked me to take a couple of pictures of them for their Christmas cards. This one especially makes me happy. At first, they just look like they're smiling, but if you look close, you can see the mischief in my dad's eyes (he was tickling my mom), and my mom's laughing eyes/exasperation at my dad's tricks. They are my constant example of the kind of marriage I want to have.

First Christmas story of the year:

November 28: I'm Thankful for...a LITTLE snow
Just enough for a mini snow man, but not enough to make the roads too dangerous.

November 29: I'm Thankful for...Christmas Tree Lights, one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season.
